Thoughts

Uh, not a big fan of buttermilk. It was too...potent? Acidic? Sour? The biscuit recipe did turn out and they rose perfectly, but man I did not like the taste. If you do like buttermilk, definitely give this recipe a shot and use it as a breakfast side, just not for me.

Touch-of-Grace Biscuits

2 cups self rising flour
1/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cups shortening
2/3 cups heavy cream
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all purpose flour
3 tbsp unsalted butter

Preheat over to 425F and butter an 8" round cake pan.

Mix self rising flour, sugar and salt. Work the shortening is until there are no lumps. Stir in the cream and enough buttermilk until the dough resembles cottage cheese ( a wet mess). Spread the all purpose flour onto a plate. With an icecream scoop spoon dough onto plate and sprinkle flour over each ball. Shape into a round while shaking off excess flour. Place biscuit in prepped pan, the balls will become scrunched up in the pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, cut them away from each other, and serve.
