Recipe from Justin Warners "The Laws of Cooking"

Thoughts

What an interesting recipe. If I was to make this again, I would add some cream and more oil to make the spread a touch more pasty and spreadable. Having a proper food processor would grind the hazelnuts a bit smaller than my blender was able to crush them. Overall, its a good spread and tastes delicious. A pleasant alternative to peanut butter.

Hazelnut Butter Toasts w/ Bacon and Jam

1 pound Bacon
6 tbsp Olive OIl
1/2 pound Raw Hazelnuts
1 tsp Salt
1 loaf Sourdough Bread
8 oz Raspberry Jam

Cook bacon in 400F oven on a sheet pan, set aside.

Heat 2 tbsp of the oil in a skillet and fry the hazelnuts until hissing and fragrant (4-6 minutes) tossing often. Place in a blender and blend on high slowly adding the remaining oil.

Preheat broiler and remove crusts from load. Cut into bit size pieces. Place the breads on a single layer sheet and broil for 3 to 5 minutes flipping once.
