Tenets of Golf Streaming
Patron Saint of Golf Streamers
Golf is the focus of the stream.
Audience draw is first and foremost a watchable golf broadcast. Objective is to attract people who want to watch golf, not have an established audience watch someone they like go golfing. It shouldn’t matter who is on screen, golf is to be the focus followed by streamer interactivity.
One person is crew and talent.
This is a single person operation, no extra crew members are allowed on the golf course. Stream design must not require additional filming or access permissions for a golf course. Keep a low profile, keep pace, don’t draw unwanted attention.
Equipment must be highly mobile.
Either carry-able or able to fit on a push cart. Keep equipment mobile. Do not rely on golf carts to transport stream equipment.
The stream is to act as a proxy for the audience.
The audience should feel as if they are walking alongside a group of golfers, participating in a friendly game with a bunch of their buddies. This is not a sporting event where a viewer is emersed in the entirety of a tournament, jumping all over the place to watch various competitors.
